For this Blog Post #2 assignment, I will be looking at the brand Wayfair and it’s use of social media. When it comes to advertising Wayfair is always there! No matter the site from Facebook to Etsy, I am certain you have seen their ads. If you have ever been on their site or even searched for something, you are guaranteed to see more of their ads than they average person.

Not only does Wayfair have a website to shop and buy from, they have extended their opportunity to not only gain more costumers but boost sales by having an app.

Along with their ads seen throughout social media sites, having an active website and app, they also have multiple social media sites which are actively used to promote their brand and products, but to also assist costumers with any questions or concerns they have via Twitter (most popular) or Messenger by Facebook.

When you are constantly updating, posting, and communicating with their followers (costumers) we are not only increasing your overall brand but showing what is new and trading (staying up to date).

When costumers reach out for help or questions with anything in regards to Wayfair (for this blog) and receive quick help and friendly service, they are extremely likely to continue to use them for all their needs.

It is safe to say that Wayfair has done everything right from actively posting, updating, and communicating with their costumers to increase sales, their overall brand, maintain good costumer relations. I have to say that I do not feel they can do anything better as the things they are doing ‘right’ is all to improve their business and there is nothing wrong with that.

Changing views and looking at The Home Depot brand which is one of Wayfair’s many top competitors. Everyone knows that The Home Depot has EVERYTHING for your home or any space from paint, fixtures, plumbing, furniture, you name it! Just like Wayfair…

The Home Depot and Wayfair are very similar. One of the differences between the two is that The Home Depot has been around longer than Wayfair and has many many locations throughout Canada and the USA. Other than that, they are the same.

What makes Wayfair better? The Home Depot does not have an active, useful, and popular social media presence which is why Wayfair has a better social media presence than The Home Depot.

Being that Wayfair is a strictly online retailer also helps with their popularity as most people like to shop online for any and everything. Being that they are online, they have a huge variety on all products whereas The Home Depot could have limited stock and only a small number of different varieties of the products they carry.

At the end of the day, business who are active on social media is proven to be beneficial to improve any companies overall brand and improve their sales and customer base too.
